Hey...

Here's a little something I wrote for my mom for Mothers' Day. Yes, I know, long overdue (it's almost Fathers' Day) but nevertheless....this is mainly for the benefit of my sister...sorry Michelle = )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Mom,
      Good morning. Happy Mothers' Day!
      According to the dictionary, the definition of the word 'mother' is someone who gave birth to you. However, we think that it is more than just that. That is just an understatement.
      Michelle and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything that you did for us. As cliche as it may sound, yes, we are grateful for everything that you did for us, even down to the smallest most unimportant thing such as reminding us to do something. Because if you had not been around for us, then... well, we wouldn't even be around, would we? The thing is that we have not exactly shown our appreciation to you. I suppose it's because we have already taken things for granted. So, in hopes of not seeming like ungrateful children, we would like to thank you Mom for everything no matter how trivial or how enormous a matter. Thank you for bringing us into this world, thank you for providing for us, thank you for teaching us, thank you even for lecturing us for we know, deep down inside our hearts, despite the fact that we retaliate and complain, we know that you love us and want what's best for us.
      Imperfect as we are as humans, we know we are stubborn and have angered you countless of times and so mom, we are sincerely sorry. We know we have caused you pain more than often and though we may not really understand that pain until we ourselves experience motherhood, we are sorry. Truly, deeply and sincerely. It is probably sometimes so frustrating that you probably just wish to give up and you could if you ever wanted to. You could have just gave up on us. But the plain truth remains that you didn't. You never did.
      Instead, you have tolerated us, cared for us and loved us. And for that Mom, we are eternally indebted to you. We are forever grateful and sincerely sorry for the pains that we've put you through and probably will put you through. Because though we know it is not right but often, anger gets the better of us and we end up doing things and saying things without thinking.
      But in this matter Mom, we have put a lot of thought, a lot of our true feelings and most importantly, our love. We wish we could go on but words simply cannot express what we truly feel. So Mom, Happy Mothers' Day!
      We Love You.
      Thank You.
                                    Yours lovingly,
Melissa Mok
and
Michelle Mok
