Dad, we love u! Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Ok. Another letter for my dad this time. For the main benefit of my sister.

Dear Dad,
Good morning. Happy Fathers' Day!
We know that this particular day has not always been given much emphasis in this house. Probably because of the fact that you live in a house where majority is the opposite gender. Nevertheless, Michelle and I would like you to know that we have always appreciated everything that you did for us. We appreciate the love that you have shown us, the support that you have always given us and the care that is always given in abundance. You have always put your family first no matter the circumstance. We know that your main priority is the family. How do we know? From the concern you have shown for us, from the interest you showed in our progress to be useful beings on this Earth to the sacrifices you have made for us. That is how we know.
Dad, we want you to know that everything that you have ever did for us have never gone unnoticed. The enormous support that you have showed in our decisions, the advice that is always ready even though we are not in need of it down to the odd philosophies that you keep reminding us of. We know that there have been times when we angered you because of our stubbornness or dissappointed you because we did not reach your expectations. For all our mistakes and all the pains that we have put you through Dad, we are sorry. From the bottom of our hearts, Dad, we are sorry.
To be honest, we have thought long and hard about how to write this letter. We kept trying to figure out the best way to express our feelings. It took us a while but realisation soon dawned upon us that there is no way that we can do that. Because mere words cannot describe you, Dad. Mere words cannot describe everything that you did for us. Mere words cannot express the gratitude as well as the sorry that we feel.
But the most important thing, Dad, that we would like you to know, is that we love you and we are proud to be able to call you Our Dad. So, Happy Fathers' Day, Dad!
Thank you.
We love you.

Your lovingly,
Melissa Mok
and
Michelle Mok
