Words from a Movie Junkie. Sunday, January 23, 2011

Yea well, this is actually long overdue too. So when I get into a holiday mood, I do the one thing that I simply must do during a holiday, and thats to make my brains turn into mush by going on a movie marathon. And so, during the break I had (which was about 2 months), here's the list:

1. Let Me In
2. Unstoppable
3. Role Models
4. Ice Age 3
5. Watchmen
6. Batman: The Dark Knight

28. Centre Stage: Turn It Up
29. Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale
30. The Machinist
31. Phoebe In Wonderland

50. Ip Man
51. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
52. Holes

54. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
55. Brokeback Mountain
56. Pretty in Pink
57. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
58. The Tourist
59. 2 Fast 2 Furious

Well, its kinda sad to end at 59 so here's 60 even though its watched after the hols.
60. Faster

Obviously, they're not all watched in a cinema, there are the old and the new. The good, really good, and the incredibly bad. The first-timers and the I've-watched-you-a-heckload-of-times.

Incredibly Bad Movie Award: Actually, this is kinda hard. "Faster" pops into my mind first, but thats because its the most recently watched. Compared to some on the list, its pretty..acceptable. I'm contemplating between the Twilights, Meatball cartoon or....okay, the award goes to "Land of the Lost". A completely and utter waste of time. And this movie actually does kill your brain cells, I joke not.

I don't exactly have an Incredibly Good Movie Award because there are a few that are really good but they don't exactly fall into the same category, so it would be unfair to judge. But here,

Repertoire of Good Movies: Shutter Island, Monster, Star Trek, Wit, Law Abiding Citizen, I Am Sam, Changeling, Rapunzel, The Machinist, The Young Victoria, Social Network, Artificial Intelligence, Tron Legacy, Holes, Donnie Darko, Brokeback Mountain.

Well, okay, if you don't agree with my choices, its fine. There are some movies that are actually quite enjoyable like Brideshead Revisited and Revolutionary Road, but they're a bit on the boring side if you're not the type for that kind of movies.

I would love to give you a detailed review on every movie on that list. But right now, I really need to watch this video about ECGs so we'll just leave it at that, shall we? :)
